Introducing Tony Larzon
Tony Larzon wanted to travel, discover new things, and do it stress-free, off the beaten path, and without the hassle of posting perfect photos on social media.
Larzon later founded a company called Rough Expeditions. He organizes trips for ordinary people that they would never have dreamed of. Let’s take a closer look at these trips!
Please tell us some details about Rough Expeditions!
Rough Expeditions organizes trips where there is no exact program plan hour by hour. Most people never dare to experience this. You can travel to places where the average tourist never gets to. We travel to small villages in the savannahs, over mountain ranges, visit oases, cross the Sahara. We have no tour guide. You drive. We camp in the wilderness, where perhaps no one has ever been before, and you can experience the surrounding wildlife. With Rough Expeditions, you are not a regular passenger, you are a member of the expedition.
Where did the idea to organize such trips come from?
Before starting the company, I had a dream of driving from Sweden to Cape Town. I was looking for adventure, I wasn’t interested in the usual holidays, photos taken at the perfect moment, and I wanted to get away from the stress of everyday life. I let the adventures find me, and thanks to my rugged Land Rover Defender, I managed to plan the most exciting trips. During the planning phase, I share the next adventure on my website to find people who would like to join me. I have been to Africa, Eastern Europe, countries like Iraq, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Iran. I have also organized mountain expeditions to the Ararat and Atlas Mountains.
What is your fondest memory of your travels?
Wow, I have so many great experiences, I don’t even know which one to pick. They have all been amazing. The feeling of freedom, the excitement, the unpredictability, the wildlife, sleeping under the stars in the desert, the wild camping and the many, many people from all over the world that I have met. I love it when we stop in small villages and talk to the town leader and the locals. They are as curious about us as we are about them, yet we respect each other’s community.
Is there a dream expedition that hasn’t come true yet?
It’s still the one I’m traveling in from Sweden to South Africa. It hasn’t happened yet, but it’s in the plans. It’s up on my page with the departure date.
How did you get in touch with Kyani?
Right after they were released in Sweden in 2009. That’s when I tried the Wellness Triangle, which I liked so much that my family and I order and consume it regularly.
Which product is your absolute favorite?
Kyäni Sunrise. A nutritious antioxidant bomb that tastes great too. I can’t wait to have my daily dose, which I love best cold – straight from the fridge.
